Is NoteLocal really free?
Yes. The app is designed as a free notes tool with no account required.
Where are my notes stored?
Your notes are stored locally in this browser using IndexedDB. If you sign in, they are also synchronized with your private server account. Export Notes remains useful for personal backups.
Can I use it offline?
Yes. After the app is loaded once, the service worker caches the app shell so the installed PWA can open offline.
Can I install it on iPhone or Android?
Yes. On supported browsers you can install the PWA. On iPhone, use Share and Add to Home Screen if the install prompt is not shown.
Can I move notes to another device?
Yes. Sign in with the same username on another device for automatic sync, or use a NoteLocal JSON backup for manual transfer.
